[Minecraft] 1 Month(Ish) World Tour
18 January 2026
Hi Y'all! I bet you didn't expect another blog post from me oh so soon, huh? I'm being extra productive and functional recently, or at least I have been trying to be, and I feel like I have a lot more time and energy to write up some silly stuff for those of you who read my blog: that being the handful of people I probably have already told about, shown, or helped to create what I'm showing off today - our current progress on my new Minecraft Realms server! The server has been up for a month and a half or so, maybe not-quite-two. The earliest date I have screenshots from is December 6, 2025, so that's when I consider the "start" of the server. This blogpost will have a companion video, if you are interested in taking a look! It is just footage of me walking around the server, no commentary or subtitles or anything, just a stroll through the neighborhood of firstport. If you want a more detailed breakdown of our city's landmarks, please keep reading and I hope you enjoy!
South Town

There's not too much on the south end of town, yet. However, what is at the southern end of the main road is perhaps one of the most important landmarks yet: our MASSIVE cave system.

Pretty much every cave around the spawn area feeds into the cave system that opens here, and most people have contributed to tearing it up. It's running dry of resources, so it seems like we'll have to find a new place to mine here soon. But, I'll continue to dig here until I absolutely HAVE to move. It's convenient and close to home, and makes getting down to deepslate level quite easy.

Following the main road north, the next landmark we hit is the Sea Side Ranch! This is probably the biggest project I've had on the server so far.

The ranch has a stable, a track, and a series of hurdles. I've been working on breeding donkeys, recently; I want to have donkeys with good stats as soon as possible for good mules. It's not too hard to find an athletic horse out in the wild with plenty of speed and jump power, but donkyes all start with the same less-than-stellar stat spread. Since mules can't breed, I figure the best way to get good mules for item transportation would be to have good donkeys and good horses to start with. I keep track of each donkey's HP total, three-lap time around the track I've built, and the height of the highest hurdle they can jump. I've been cataloguing these stats for a bit, and we are a few generations in. It's been fun, horse breeding isn't a mechanic I put much effort into until this world and I think that's a real shame. It gives me a long-term task to keep me logging in, and gave me an excuse to build something functional to test the performance of my equine mobs.

Next stop, right next to the ranch, is my house!

I wanted to aim for a classic-feeling medieval German house, the kind of house that was the building meta in Minecraft beta and early releases, but with a modern twist, and I think I'm really happy with the result! I didn't want any kind of super huge base, personally. I think the fun of a server like this is having a larger city that everyone contributes to. If I wanted to have a huge, cool mega-base, I'd play singleplayer at this point. Fucking off to the far corners of the earth to build a base alone is a bad habit I have on Minecraft servers, and it's something that makes getting really invested in the server ecosystem feel difficult for me.

If you want a more thorough peek into more building interiors, go check the companion video! It's easier to show every little nook and cranny in that format, I feel like, and I like that it gives each version of this world tour its own little purpose.
Following the road north once again, we get to the Monster Dungeon Farm!

I feel like I could give a thorough breakdown of this build.. if I didn't do so already! If you haven't read my blog-post on it, go and do that! You can see the process of it being built, and get a good thorough look at the final product. If you don't want to go read that, however, I guess you just have to try to imagine what the interior looks like based on the entrance...
West from here, we have Firstport Farms!

This is a little area we set up at the beginning of the server in order to make sure people were fed. Down by the coast, there is an assortment of the more unique crops in the game. Up on top, there is a little field with all the major plantables we've been able to get our hands on so far. This farm, at this point, serves mostly as a bank of sorts. After our potatoes went missing under mysterious circumstances, and now that everyone is established in their own way, this serves as an area where people can go grab their first round of crops for planting at whatever farm they want to establish wherever they want to build.

Right next to the farms, we have Town Square!

So, the server has a couple special gamerules turned on. Among them, the decision to limit the F3 menu is one of them. The only use of F3 in the entire server has been to place the Lodestone block in the center of the town square fountain right at 0,0. Around there, at least. Navigating the world through use of Lodestones and Lodestone Compasses has created a novel challenge, incentivising creating safe, long-distance travel infrastructure. If you die out in the wild, it could cost all of your items. This has also, probably, contributed to the willingness of people to settle in a closer radius, which I am a fan of.

Just down the road west from Town Square, we have my friend Squishy's base!

It is a somewhat simple Minecraft base, made with your bread-and-butter materials. Nothing spectacular, nothing inoffensive. I quite like their design for a Happy Ghast dock next to their base. It is quite functional on top of being aesthetically pleasing!

Their home, however, hasn't been their main labor of love on the server so far, that would be what's across the street. The wool farm!

Squishy's main favorite thing to do on the server, so far, has been to make pixel art. It's an old, retro-Minecraft-feeling style of build that I don't see people go for anymore. I love it! It's a nice way to add color and visual interest in the world, and rebuilding sprites in Minecraft is a fun sort of fan-art, in a way. Using materials from this, they were able to create the Dunsparce featured in previous photos, as well as the giant Vodka monument.

The next landmark is a bit of an anomaly... A half-build base that has been there since week 1 and never touched again.

I believe this is the base of a friend of one of my partners. I've not seen the owner of this house online on the server a single time, though, so I cannot confirm anything. Strange, for sure, but I feel like it adds a little bit more lore and intrigue to the town. Who used to live in the roofless abandoned shack up the road? Where did they go...?
Down the road a little further, and off into the sea, is the base of the partner mentioned above, Jyuutaro.

Though, from the outside, it doesn't look much like a base, does it? It's mostly just a dock, with a horse, and a hole in the middle...

Unless...

Aha! An underwater, underground base. A base style that I'm personally a really big fan of seeing. There's a really cool feature inside of their base, that I need to show off. Past the entrance hall, farm, and storage room, there is a MASSIVE fuck-off hole that seems to go to deepslate. That's a commitment of a dig, that's for sure, and each of the layers on the way leaves plenty of space for potential base expansion.

Back to the surface, and as west as this road goes, we'll find the home of my roomate who goes by Wolfy online.

Another fairly standard Minecraft base. I don't have much to say about it, except perhaps that I like the combination of materials used. The sandstone and cherry planks do make a nice color combination. I might have to use these blocks together in a build of my own sometime soon.

Back to the main road, heading northbound now, we have our little animal farms!

These are just rather simple little setups, mostly to serve as stock for when people want to take their own animals to set up their own farms. There's a sheep pen, cow pen, pig pen, and a little chicken coop I am especially proud of

Just up the street from the cow pen, we have the enchanting and (future) potion building!

This build was made by my other roommate, ShushEgg. He says he wants to go with an ominous, slightly evil wizard-tower aesthetic for most of his build, while still incorporating tons of color. I like how this building looks so far, and can't wait to see it fully complete.

Next up the road, though a little bit off of the road (I should probably pave and light a path here soon) is ShushEgg's main base.

This is keeping with the same aesthetic as the enchanting tower. I believe he has plans to expand the entire area into a little evil-ish-wizard campus on the north end of town. I'm excited to see how it develops.

Right across the street, we have another two bases. Let's start with the closer of the two.

This is the base of another one of the same partner's friends. I think I've only interacted with this friend once, but their base looks quite aesthetically pleasing. I love the use of campfires as an interesting awning shape and texture, it reminds me of something similar my grandparents had over their deck that was bigger than their house. I might have to incorporate something like that into a build of mine sometime soon.

Right behind this base, we have a build from my other partner, Chimera.

This is a little redstone-powered automatic pumpkin pie farm, making use of the relatively new crafter blocks. It is slow, but if time is the only price I have to pay for infinite pumknin pies, that is a price I am very very happy to pay.

Right next to the factory, and up a bubble-elevator, is the same partner's base up in the jungle trees.

She's been working on a dark, red-and-black themed treehouse colony idea. I think it's coming along together nicely. There are plans to erect a giant tower in the middle of the colony, holding up a nether portal. That will be beautiful to see completed.

From the treehouse, we have an interesting little view...

All the way over there is a little pen for breeding turtles. We wanted to mess with the mechanics of them a while ago, though we kind of forgot about them over there. I may go back to check on them soon and collect some scutes for turtle helmets.
At the very north end of what we have of the main road, there's a little tunnel dug out. Why don't we go explore that next?

Down here, we have the beginnings of the city's subway system! I want to have high-speed minecart rails connect the city and nearby landmarks to make navigation quicker and easier. I feel like with the prevalence of elytra in the modern game, you become less and less incentivized to build long-term transit infrastructure. I think that's, frankly, kind of lame. Building transit infrastructure is perhaps my favorite thing to do in this game. You can probably tell by the roads and lamps I've put across the whole main city.

The tunnel runs north and south along the main road. While it's still a work in progress, one line is fully powered and functional, even if the rail is not operating on full capacity as of yet.
After coming down the subway and turning around from the Town Square station, we're met with the last base we've yet to see: my friend Ludosity's.

An IRL friend of mine who saw the base had some rather unkind things to say about it, but personally I love the state that the build is in right now. It has a really cool armored fortress vibe that I enjoy quite a bit. The use of orange stained glass especially stands out as unique. I always want to use stained glass, but I never know where, how, and in what amounts. This feels like an excellent application of the block type, and I could learn a thing or two from this build.

Next to Ludosity's base is the last thing I think I'll discuss in this here blogpost, the nether gazebo.

We don't really have extensive nether transit set up quite yet, so showing off the dimension feels like it would be better saved for a future tour. I like the little gazebo structure Ludosity built around the portal, though I've not much to say on it at the moment.
I'm sure there are a couple structures you've seen in the background, such as the massive nerdpole. Well, I won't be covering them in this blogpost. I will, however, show them off in the video that accompanies this blogpost. You'll even get to see some of the nether, as well as a camel ride to the nearby village and iron farm. Thank you so much for reading and letting me share this little slice of my recent gaming experience with you. By the way, did you find the Jack o'Lantern hidden in a window in one of the screenshots up above? Watch the video below for the full tour, as well as the official reveal of the Jack o'Lantern's not-so-hidden location. Next time you see me, I think I'll be talking graphic novels. One specific one has been on my radar as of late.
